AUSTIN — Collin County officials continue to balk at the growing cost of prosecuting Attorney General Ken Paxton, a political, legal and personal fight that shows no signs of abating as it spills over into a Dallas courtroom Friday.
“I don’t think it’s necessarily expensive because those attorneys are very good attorneys, and it’s a really time-intensive case,” said Toby Shook, a Dallas lawyer who served as a special prosecutor in the Kaufman County district attorney slayings. “I’m sure in private practice they get paid twice that amount or more.”
