Spring Break Brings Increased DWI Arrest in Texas.

Spring break is here which means thousands of college students will be headed to Texas beaches to celebrate a week off from school. As we all know that celebration will include a lot of consumption of alcoholic beverages. To prepare for the non stop party DPS has announced that it will step up DWI patrols in high risk locations at times when alcohol-related crashes are most frequent. Last year DPS made over 1,000 DWI arrest during this time period.

In reality these DWI patrols mean zero tolerance for anyone suspected of drinking an driving. Police officers will be looking for any reason to legally stop drivers and determine if the driver has been drinking. If an officer smells alcohol on the drivers breath there is almost a 100% chance the driver will be  arrested for DWI.
